What We Believe

The Bible is God’s true, inspired Word. God gave the writers the exact thoughts and words to write (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21). While nature’s beauty and humanity’s conscience tell of a god, only the Bible can reveal who the true God is and what he has done to save us (1 Corinthians 2:9, 2 Timothy 3:15). God uses the Bible to create and strengthen faith in Jesus as Savior (John 20:31, Romans 10:17) and to guide Christians through life (Psalm 119:105). Therefore, the Bible provides all of our teachings.

All human beings are conceived and born sinful (Psalm 51:5). No one has the natural desire or ability to believe in God or live a perfect life (1 Corinthians 2:14, Psalm 14:2-3, Romans 8:7). Sin separates people from God and earns death in hell (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23; 6:23).

Jesus Christ is both God and our Savior (Matthew 1:21, 23). He becomes true man and is born to obey God perfectly (Galatians 4:4-5). Jesus is tempted in every way just like we are, but never sins (Hebrews 4:15, John 8:46). Jesus lives a perfectly God-pleasing life (Matthew 3:17).

Jesus saved us by offering his sinless life as payment for all of our sins (1 John 2:2, Isaiah 53:6). Then, Jesus physically rose from the dead to declare us forgiven! (Romans 4:25) This payment becomes yours by faith that trusts Jesus’ saving work (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:22, Ephesians 2:8-9).
